A Miami Beach police officer has been suspended following a case of excessive force.

Detective Philippe Archer allegedly kicked and punched a woman after her arrest, and the incident took place in a parking garage at police headquarters. The woman had been arrested for a disturbance at a condo.

Archer has also been accused of punching a man who thought Archer was mugging the woman and tried to step in and help her.

However, he has not been charged for that incident.
