MIAMI – Nick Taylor turned his online basketball skills into 25 grand, slam dunking the championship prize in the Virgin Gaming NBA 2K11 tournament April 9th.

The FIU senior started hitting real hardwood floors before 4th grade. His strategy now may be surprising.

“I play the Lakers, even though I’m from Miami. Everybody plays with Miami so I went with the Lakers. They’re the team I play best with,” he said.

Taylor has rolled over 256 over internet gamers. Nick’s had plenty of practice since he started playing back in 2007, and spends five hours in front of the screen in a lighter day.

“I spend probably about 8 hours on this – if I have nothing to do,” said Taylor.

The better he gets, the more people want to play him.
