On Monday night, a Florida woman who was six months pregnant was shot after she was threatened by a group of women wielding bats, machetes and a chain with a lock.

On Monday night, a Florida woman who was six months pregnant was shot after she was threatened by a group of women wielding bats, machetes and a chain with a lock.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the victim told authorities she had been receiving messages on Facebook from 31-year-old Latoya Jackson, including one in which Jackson claimed to be “having sex with the father of (her) child,” before the assault on Monday.

After the victim was discovered with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to her back and arm, witnesses claimed that they had seen Jackson firing at the victim from a car.

“(A witness) observed Jackson, still wearing the black tank top, in the back seat hanging half her upper body out the open window,” the Orlando Sentinel reported.

“While Jackson was hanging out the window she was shooting a gun toward (the victim)… During this shooting (the witness) observed Jackson’s face and the muzzle fire from the gun in her hand.”

Prior to being shot, the victim was confronted by a group of women, including Jackson, outside a liquor store. The women were wielding bats, machetes and a chain with a lock. Jackson allegedly uttered threats, including a promise to kill the victim’s unborn child.

Jackson has since been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and attempted murder.
