‘Prostitutes’ for Trump: Pastor condemns black clergy who support Trump campaign

A Baltimore pastor has some scathing words for his fellow clergymen for supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
Rev. Jamal Bryant, the pastor at Empowerment Temple Church in Baltimore, not only declined to meet with the billionaire but also thinks those who did show up are “sell outs,” calling them “prostitutes” for showing any type of support or solidarity for the divisive candidate.
“Prostitutes for Trump … don’t let black pulpit become a pole,” he declared in a Periscope video he posted to Twitter Monday.
“If your pastor tells you they’re going to New York on Monday, I need you to call them out,” Bryant said.” Donald Trump does not represent what our community needs or what America needs.”
Later that evening, he appeared on CNN with Pastor James Davis, who attended the meeting, and told him to his face that he was a “pawn.”
When Davis called Bryant out for referring to his colleagues as sex workers, Bryant offered a sarcastic apology.
“I want to apologize, because prostitutes get money. And the 100 that went in there walked away with nothing, they did it for free,” he quipped.“So there’s another word for that, and I would not use that language on a family channel.”
Davis dismissing Bryant’s disapproval, implying he was just one of the liberal “minions” telling African-Americans who are open to non-liberal points of view to “get back on the plantation.” Then he went as far as to suggest Bryant should “probably have his ministerial credentials revoked.”
