New census figures show we are in a baby bust because of the recession. The government says because of recession the number of children born last year fell sharply compared to 2007.

Experts say the trend started just before the earliest stages of the recession when home and gas prices were at their highest. Experts say economic pressures forced many young couples to postpone having children.
