Ron Isley, of Isley Brothers fame, has provided the backdrop of some of the most memorable hits in hip-hop and R&B.

Working with contemporary singers like Kelly Price, Chante Moore, and his most famous collaborator, R. Kelly, has helped the 72-year-old extend his career over five decades.

Now he looks to maintain his nonstop creative streak with an upcoming 2013 project.

Since serving a three-year prison sentence for tax evasion, Isley has been working at a feverish rate.

“We’ve been recording for about a year and a half now,” Isley recalled. “I wanted to make sure that when I came back, that it would be a bang.”

Ron Isley’s famous Mr. Bigg’s character, which debuted in R. Kelly’s “Down Low” music video, reintroduced the singer to a younger audience in the mid-90’s. The fictional gangster character has since appeared on multiple tracks with the Chicago singer and Isley has confirmed that Biggs would be returning on his new album.

“Mr. Biggs has to be on it. It wouldn’t be right,” said Isley.
