Bus company had complaints about driver before deadly crash

Johnthony Walker, the bus driver who was at the wheel during a fatal crash in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which left six children dead and 30 injured, was the driver behind complaints of reckless and dangerous behavior, the district said in a written statement Tuesday.

“Transportation Director Ben Coulter spoke in person about the written complaints with Durham School Services personnel on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 and again on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016,” the district statement said.

Durham School Services declined to say on Tuesday whether or not it had taken any disciplinary action against Walker as a result of these complaints.
