The Incomparable Shakespeare: Rapper – Brooklyn, NY – “All on the Line”
The inspiration for “All On The Line” was an overwhelming sense of urgency and honestly, doubt. Being unemployed as long as I have been, after graduating Summa Cum Laude, really bothered me. I really began to question if I had made the right choices in life, and if music would ever pan out. I had to re-eavluate all the sacrifices I had made in pursuit of my dream because it compromised my financial security, love life, and time with my nephew. On the flip side, it didn’t make sense to abandon all the progress I had made musically. Plus I don’t think working a corporate 9-5 would be as fulfilling as making music.

Mic Write: Rapper – Detroit, Michigan – “H.O.M.E.S.”
I am a writer, poet, and rapper beautifully painting Detroit’s narrative with “H.O.M.E.S.” With assistance from Detroit producer Jay Norm and emcee Doss The Artist, we politically breakdown the meaning and acronym of H.O.M.E.S = Heaven On My Everyday Surroundings. As changes take place in urban centers across America, I feel like this song directly challenges the idea of community gentrification. As the beat fades I cleverly remind the new businesses and builders to only build their love with bricks.

Filling the void of nostalgic authenticity, NC’s Hip-Hop duo Wreck-N-Crew delivers a raw and ethical installment of melodic creation now missing (in widespread) from the scene of pop culture.
