A savant from the Bronx was recently accepted to the University of Connecticut at the young age of thirteen. She had notified the University that she would accept the invitation to attend, and her family began to collect money for her attendance, when she received some bad news. The University called her father, and said they had to retract the invitation, stating that she was not academically ready.

Batin Ashante said his daughter, Autum, is devastated by the sudden news. The NY Daily News and a host of news agencies reported about Autum’s acceptance at the time, making her a blogosphere sensation.
