Andre Johnson a.k.a. Christ Bearer

Rapper Andre Johnson, a member of the hip-hop group Northstar, which is affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan, severed his own penis and proceeded to jump from an apartment balcony in Los Angeles on Wednesday according to a CNN report.

Police Sgt. William Mann spoke to CNN and said that Johnson survived the fall from the second story apartment but suffered severe injuries from his fall. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.

There are no official details about what could have possibly triggered the incident. But E! Online is described it as an “attempted suicide.”

The gossip site TMZ interviewed two friends of Johnson’s who live in his apartment building who allegedly witnessed Johnson’s actions. They corroborated that story that Johnson suddenly, without provocation, severed his own penis and then leaped off the balcony. They insist he did not consume “any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing.”

Johnson performs under his stage name of Christ Bearer. His recording credits include “When the Guns Come Out,” which appeared on the soundtrack for the Wesley Snipes movie  Blade: Trinity back in 2004, according to the Internet Movie Database.

Northstar’s debut album was released in 2003 entitled Bobby Digital Presents Northstar was produced by the RZA.

Johnson released a new song entitled “OOH!” with Rugged Monk two days ago.
