Oprah is inspiring her fans to live the life they’ve always dreamed of during her nationwide tour, Oprah’s The Life You Want weekend.

The “Queen of Talk” recently landed her tour in Newark, New Jersey, where she energized audiences by sharing her personal story in her own words, accompanied by photos and videos.

One of the more memorable moments from Oprah’s presentation Friday night at the Prudential Center was when she opened up about being cast in The Color Purple.

Oprah revealed that she never wanted anything as badly as playing Sophia in the 1985 film inspired by the Alice Walker’s novel.

While recalling the emotional roller coaster she endured waiting to find out if she was actually cast in The Color Purple, Oprah belted out a snippet of the Gospel hymn, “I Surrender All.”
