Police in Greene County, Georgia, found a black man hanging from a tree Monday morning.
A spokesperson for the Greensboro Police Department confirmed the hanging death to Atlanta reporter Nathalie Pozo.
Witnesses who spotted the man called the authorities, which prompted the discovery. While the name of the man who was found has not yet been released, authorities said he did not live in the house where he was discovered.

The person was described as a 43-year-old African-American male.
Pozo reports the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the homicide investigation.
