After two years, the controversial Nina Simone film, Nina, which stars Zoe Saldana, is getting its release date, along with a poster and an official synopsis.

The film will be released to theaters as well as to video-on-demand and digital HD on April 22, 2016. Additionally, the film got its first official poster, showing off Saldana’s look as the legendary Simone, and while there has not yet been a trailer release, with the release date so soon, there is bound to be one soon.

Along with the release date and poster, RLJ Entertainment gave an official synopsis of the movie:
