On Friday night, the school board for a Pennsylvania high school held an emergency meetings for parents to express their outrage over a scheduled “Diversity Day” that was announced after a fight broke out between students.

A Gateway High School administrator sent out an email as well as a notice on Facebook declaring the “Diversity Day” and suggesting that students either wear Gateway Ts or Black Lives Matter t-shirts.

However, parents were concerned that the day was only going to serve to drive students apart.

“The email, the phone call, the post: Y’all made it worse,” one parent said.

Immediately after the day was announced, rumors circulated that any white students wearing black tee shirts would be targeted.

“My daughter doesn’t want to go here anymore. She wants to go to cyber-school,” one mother told the board, who sat quietly listening to complaints.
