Michelle Obama surprises D.C elementary students with school visit
On February 26, First Lady Michelle Obama surprised students at Watkins Elementary School and John Burroughs Elementary School in Washington, D.C. Their reactions were absolutely priceless.
The visit was part of her “Let’s Move” initiative, meant to encourage kids to get their own gardens. But before she could talk to them about that, first she had to convince them that she was real.
“It’s really me,” she told the students, who could hardly believe their eyes. “I can’t believe I’m sitting here digging out worms with you guys.”
One little boy even ran up to her to give her a huge, warm hug.
Check out video of the adorable and heartwarming reactions above.

Surprise! The First Lady visited the gardens under the tender care of the students of John Burroughs Elementary. Each winter the students plant seeds and learn about how fruits and vegetables grow outside their classroom windows. And they showed the First Lady the magic of worm composting as worms break down food waste and return the nutrients to the soil. #LetsMove
