Kanye West performs for the first time in nearly a year

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Kanye West has finally gotten back to the stage almost one year after he suffered a mental breakdown. At that time, he was forced to cancel his Saint Pablo tour.

Kanye, 40, hit the stage on Saturday where he joined Kid Cudi in a surprise performance of “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1.”

They played the song off the “Life of Pablo” album in Chicago, Kanye’s hometown.

He looked both healthy and happy and was smiling as he performed, loving the crowd’s positive reaction to the track and his performance.

It was last November that he ended his tour after going on multiple rants during his concerts. Those outbursts and his erratic behavior got him placed in the UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation where he stayed for approximately one week. There he dealt with his depression, paranoia as well as exhaustion.

Since then he has not been in the spotlight often and it was reported that he’d been working hard on new music, some of it while spending time in Wyoming.

Kanye has other good news in his life as well, he and wife Kim Kardashian are expecting their third child via surrogate.

It didn’t surprise anyone that Kanye would make his first appearance back on stage with Kid Cudi as the two have been close for years and collaborated often.

Cudi has appeared on at least once track on Kanye’s last four albums. They did have some sort of disagreement on Twitter at one point but since then Kanye has called Cudi “the most influential artist of the past 10 years.
