Red Carpet Recap: Stars at ‘Black Panther’ world premiere
The royal purple carpet was slayed
The Black Panther cast slayed the red (purple) carpet at the world premiere in Los Angeles.
Black Panther comes to theaters February 16, but the world premiere in Los Angeles was last night and it was everything! Chadwick Boseman brought his regal energy, Angela Bassett charmed with her age-less beauty, Lupita Nyong’o stunned the crowd with her luminous presence–the entire red (actually purple) carpet was a royal African slay.
Beyond the talented cast of Black Panther, much of Black Hollywood showed up and showed out to support the film. Find some of your favs in the gallery.

I love this look. The print is fantastic and sophisticated and the simple gold cuff is just the right accent.

The color is stunning – she demolished this look, seriously !! The simple makeup is the perfect complement to this look and the hair is young fresh and free! Love love LOVE!!

The dress, the hair, and the jeweled harness are all beautiful on her – it’s nice to have this risk taking energy back in the carpet.

It can be hard to pull off a fresh take on that classic double breasted suit but he does it well. But truthfully he always gets it right!

He looks stunning. Simple, fresh, tailored. I love her traditional print and the hair, but it all seems a bit too casual here – especially next to him.

They both look nice – simple with just a bit of playfulness form his suit jacket and her separates and skirt slit.

Glam hair and dress all works super well together. Bright and fun, but still glamorous with a little edge.

As a couple, they’re styled well together. He could use some better tailoring and perhaps a different hairstyle for her – something a little more on pair with the dress. But overall nice!

Love the risk and it pays off. Love how they took a style and each made it their own on dress and hair. Super fun!

Everything about this is stunning. The crown, the collar, the hair and make up is perfect. He dress is beautiful and playful with the asymmetry of the sleeve colors but the simple body of the gown is the perfect foundation for all of this.

Love the sharpness of this bright color and the embroidery on the jacket. I’m just wishing he would have paired it with something a little bit more complementary underneath that doesn’t compete against it so much!

The outfit is super flattering on her and the skirt is beautiful, but the hair is just coming off a bit too young for such a sophisticated look otherwise.

Super glam and they both wear it well, especially together. The idea of the asymmetrical look against her single slit was nice but I just don’t think this was the right pairing.

I appreciate the risk of the jeweled headpiece. But it’s altogether too much bling against the sequin dress and metallic silver pumps and bright lip.
