Surprise! Chance the Rapper drops 4 new songs

 

Chance the Rapper has surprised fans and released a collection of four new songs!

Earlier this week, it was reported the 25-year-old was planning to drop a new album before Saturday, when he performs at the Special Olympics concert in his hometown of Chicago. “I’m excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics,” he told Greg Kot in an interview with Chicago Tribune.

But the following day he rescinded via tweet, writing, “Sorry no album this week, def been in the stu tho.”

In his first track called, I Might Need Security the emcee demands the resignation of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, “And Rahm you done, I’m expecting a resignation, and open investigation on all these paid vacations for murderers.”

He then reveals that he acquired the news and culture website Chicagoist. “I bought the Chicagoist/ Just to run you racist bitches out of business,” the Chicago native rhymes.

WNYC, a radio station that initially owned the site, confirmed the sale in a statement.

“I’m extremely excited to be continuing the work of the Chicagoist, an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment,” Chance said in a news release. “I look forward to relaunching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content,”

Chance is currently reportedly working on a full-length with Kanye West.
