‘If your friend was in trouble, wouldn’t you help him out?’: R. Kelly’s friend speaks out after bailing him out

Valencia P. Love, the woman who bailed R.Kelly out of jail, is speaking out, according to The Herald-News.
Love, 47, of Romeoville, Ill., on Monday posted $100,000 to bail the singer out of the Cook County jail where he was awaiting trial on charges he sexually abused four people dating back to 1998, including three underage girls, the report said.
“If your friend was in trouble, wouldn’t you bail them out?” she said, according to the news outlet. Love claimed in court documents that she and Kelly are childhood friends.

During an interview with Fox News‘ Tia Ewing, Love denied all claims that Kelly was broke, and stood firmly behind her friend’s innocence. In a transcribed statement to Ewing, Kelly’s friend stated:
“I’m not going to say it was my money (Valencia P. Love) or his (RKelly) money and he’s not broke. He was going to post bond by Thursday anyway. He’s my friend and I knew he need help. There are three sides to every story, his side, there’s (the alleged victims) and the truth. I can’t say [the victims] are lying. It wasn’t my money, I’m not going to say whose money it is. I don’t condone any man sodomizing anyone or abusing a woman. He (Rkelly) told me he was innocent, if he did it he is wrong.”

Love, a former daycare worker and current owner of the Windy City restaurant, Love on The Blu, went on to parallel the singer’s story to that of the ongoing controversy surrounding Catholic priests, claiming that R.Kelly is “Not a monster,” the News-Herald wrote.
