A deejay who was appearing with the legendary Harlem Globetrotters was arrested over the weekend after he said to have allegedly touched a 14-year-old girl during an appearance in Albany, N.Y.

Georgia was charged with misdemeanor sex abuse in connection with the alleged incident in which he touched the teen over her clothing in an inappropriate manner during the team’s show, the New York Daily News reported.

The alleged incident took place on Feb. 10 at Albany’s Times Union Center, and Buckner was arrested over the weekend in Syracuse, according to the Albany Times Union.

It is not clear if Buckner travels with the Globetrotters or appeared with the team just for that show in Albany, the Times Union reported.

The show takes place annually at the venue in Albany. The program started around 3 p.m. and shortly after 5 p.m., Buckner approached the girl and began touching her, police told the news organization in Albany, the state capital.

In addition to misdemeanor sex abuse, Buckner also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

After his arrest, he was taken back to Albany, arraigned Sunday morning at Albany City Court and sent to the Albany County jail, according to the Times Union.

The Globetrotters, known for decades for their high energy performances set to music, were holding back comment on the arrest during the initial investigation and said, through a spokesman, that they are cooperating with authorities, NBC News reported.

Buckner, who also goes by the name DJ FullFrame, remained in custody as of Monday, according to NBC News.

The Albany Police Department announced Buckner’s arrest in a tweet.

The public defender’s office in Albany did not immediately respond to a message left by NBC News requesting comment.

The Harlem Globetrotters launched in 1926, and have performed more than 26,000 exhibition games in more than 120 countries, according to their website. Their signature background song is “Sweet Georgia Brown.”
