Baton Rouge, LA – A group of protesters are angry that Governor Bobby Jindal has decided not to accept all of the federal stimulus money. The Concerned Citizens Coalition rallied on the steps of the state capitol this morning. They say they want to stop budget cuts on everything from education to healthcare but their main focus was unemployment. They’re demanding Governor Jindal accept the federal stimulus money for unemployment benefits.

“When you are unemployed and you can’t feed your family, you are suffering. If we stand hand in hand in the unemployment line, then we should stand hand in hand here today. ” said Denis Marcelle of the Baton Rouge Metro Council.

Today, the Louisiana governor defended his decision to reject some of the money. He said it would result in higher taxes on businesses and cost the state more money in the future.
