The Atlanta Police are searching their city today, looking for the driver of a hit and run who injured one of their own.

Khalif Edwards, 29, is accused of aggravated assault, battery, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and other lesser offenses. Edwards got into an altercation with Atlanta police near the East Lake MARTA Station Thursday afternoon and is accused of hitting Officer Patrick Apoian, who was at the location on an non related mater, with his gold Honda Accord.

Officer Apoian was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital with chest and leg injuries and according to Atlanta Police officer John Chaffee Apoian, a 9-year department veteran, is in stable condition and good spirits.

Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of Edwards.
