  • 2) I Am Legend (2007): In arguably one of his greatest dramatic performances, Smith held the screen virtually all by himself for most of this apocalyptic thriller's running time. He plays a military scientist who may or may not be the last man on the planet. A scary good time at the movies.

Did Gadhafi have a crush on Condi Rice?

Libyan rebels successfully raided the compound of Muammar Gadhafi and found amongst his possessions guns, cars and valuable artwork.

According to Newser, Gadhafi’s compound also holds unusual objects such as his daughter’s gold mermaid couch, a statue of a giant hand crumpling a U.S. fighter jet, and golf carts that rebels seem to enjoy riding in as they celebrate their success.

However, the object that seems to raise the most eyebrows is a photo album filled with pictures of former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

In his 2007 interview with Al-Jazeera television, Gadhafi boasted, “I support my darling black African woman,” he said. “I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders…Leezza, Leezza, Leezza…I love her very much. I admire her and I’m proud of her because she’s a black woman of African origin.”

Rice visited Tripoli in 2008 to restore diplomatic relations with Libya. The Washington Post_ reported in a September 2008, during her stay in Tripoli, Rice shared a dinner with Gadhafi to break the Ramadan fast and upon seeing Rice, Gadhafi’s face lit up as he placed his hand over his chest which is a “traditional and respectful welcome.”

This isn’t the first time that an Arab enemy of the U.S. has shown admiration for a famous African-American woman. According to the Daily Mail, Osama Bin Laden had a bit of an obsession with R&B singer Whitney Houston and thought about killing her then husband Bobby Brown in a scheme to make her his bride.

According to MSNBC, rebels also raided a beachfront villa that belongs to Gadhafi’s son Al- Saadi. Rebels confirmed Al-Saadi’s affinity for yachts and soccer. But they also found a gay porn DVD with entitled Boys Tracks.

Reporters also found business cards scattered on the floor for a firm called Natural Selection that lists Al-Saaid as a partner as well as an executive producer with an address on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has yet to comment on the album.
