Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin appeared on The Today Show this morning to give their reaction to Wednesday night’s Fox News interview with George Zimmerman, the man who has been charged with killing their son, Trayvon Martin. In an exclusive interview with Sean Hannity, Zimmerman reiterated his account of what happened the night of Trayvon’s shooting. Zimmerman claimed he never pursued Martin and that he believes the events that night was “Gods plan.”

“We must worship a different God,” Martin’s father, Tracy Martin, told the Associated Press. “There is no way that my God wanted George Zimmerman to murder my teenage son.”

“It’s ridiculous, I wish Trayvon was here to tell his side of the story. It was not God’s plan for him to kill an innocent teenager,” Fulton told Today co-host Matt Lauer.

Hannity asked if Zimmerman regretted getting out of the car, following Martin or carrying a gun that night — to all of which Zimmerman replied, “No.”

Zimmerman told Hannity that feels that the media had rushed to judgment in the initial stages of the case, assuming that he profiled Trayvon and shot him because he was black. “I don’t think it’s fair that they rushed to judgment thinking I was white,” he said.

Lauer asked Trayvon’s father if he agreed that Zimmerman deserved to be treated like an innocent man until he’s proven guilty and that there had been a rush to judgment.

“It was a rush to judgment for him to think Trayvon was suspicious.  So, for him to think that we are rushing to judge…he rushed to judge Trayvon.”

When asked if they would be willing to accept George Zimmerman’s request to sit down with them, Trayvon’s mom replied, “Absolutely not.”
