Halle Berry was once one of the most promising young actresses in Hollywood.  Her career hit an all-time high in the late 90′s and early 2000′s with her role in such films as Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999), X-Men (2000), and Monster’s Ball (2001).  Her role in Monster’s Ball earned her the best actress Academy Award, for which she was the first African-American to win.

Following her Academy Award, Berry took a string of roles in action flicks that didn’t get much critical or commercial love, and gave birth to her daughter Nahla in 2008.  She’s been under the radar, but new images from her upcoming movie with Tom Hanks that have been released today are getting a lot of buzz.

Halle Berry stars alongside Tom Hanks in Cloud Atlas, a sci-fi film premiering this fall, based on the 2004 novel by David Mitchell.  The film, directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix) with Tom Tykwer, will tell a series of six stories that intertwine throughout a millennium.  Both Berry and Hanks will be playing multiple roles.

Can Berry’s highly anticipated role re-ignite her career and send her back to the top? Our hopes are high.
