DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — A judge has set bond at $2,500 for Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson, who is being held in a Florida jail on a domestic violence charge after his wife accused him of head-butting her during an argument.

Johnson’s defense attorney, Adam Swickle, says Johnson posted the bond Sunday morning, though jail records show he had not yet been released. Swickle says a no-contact order has been issued that prevents Johnson from contacting his wife, Evelyn Lozada.

Such orders are common in domestic violence cases.

Swickle declined to comment further.

Police say Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, was arrested Saturday. He is accused of head-butting his wife during an argument in front of their Miami home. Davie police Capt. Dale Engle said the argument started when Lozada confronted Johnson about a receipt she had found for a box of condoms.
