Toronto Maple Leafs center Tyler Bozak can now be added to the list of this year’s blackface offenders.

The hockey player tweeted out a picture of his costume on Tuesday, but quickly deleted it after receiving backlash.

The photo shows him dressed as Michael Jackson, with his face and hands painted a darker color.

The reaction to the photo was varied. Some Twitter users called Bozak out for his racially insensitive actions, while others said there was nothing wrong with the costume.

Bozak finally spoke out. “That’s a tribute to one of my fave artists. For anyone saying its racist is crazy!” he tweeted.

Last year, fellow NHL player Raffi Torres, of the Phoenix Coyotes, caught flack for dressing up in blackface with his wife as Jay-Z and Beyonce.
