Parents, teachers and students at Palm Glades charter school came together tonight to talk openly about gun violence and how to stop it. And the conversation became very revealing.

Heading the discussion at the forum, called “Saving Our Children From Gun Violence,” was State Representative Kionne McGhee.

“Do you know who has the gun? Where is the gun?” McGhee said to a crowd of 100 plus at Palm Glades Charter School. “A simple conversation in five minutes can change the lifestyle of this whole community.”

This town hall meeting came nine days after 13-year-old Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus was shot and killed on a school bus.

Police say the shooter, a student from a different school, was showing off a gun he brought from home.
