Nearly a year ago, Sweet Brown became a media darling and a YouTube celebrity after an interview she gave detailing how she survived a house fire became a viral sensation.
Just months after her local news hit, she got a makeover, and appeared in several commercials, including a nationwide quick home buying service and a Shortline Dental commercial.
Sweet Brown has even gained the attention of pop icon Beyoncé.
After her epic Super Bowl performance Beyoncé quoted Sweet Brown, saying, “Lord Jesus it’s a fire” during an interview with A.J. Calloway from Extra.
Now, according to Gawker, the Oklahoma City native is taking Hollywood by storm. Sweet Brown has landed a co-hosting stint on the reality TV series Cheaters and has signed on for a role in Tyler Perry’s big screen adaptation of his play, A Madea Christmas.
Sweet Brown will join Perry’s cast which includes Tika Sumpter, Chad Michael Murray, and Kathy Najimy.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the film’s plot will center around “Madea getting coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas. Their arrival, as the rural town prepares for its annual Christmas Carnival, prompts secrets to be revealed and old friendships test. Oh, and Madea dishes her special brand of spirit to all.”
Details for Sweet Brown’s character have not yet been revealed.
A Madea Christmas is scheduled to hit theaters December 13, 2013.
