In preparation for the upcoming verdict in the George Zimmerman trial, Florida authorities have released a public service announcement on YouTube, encouraging residents to “raise your voice, not your hands.”

George Zimmerman is on trial for the 2nd degree murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.  Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and says he shot Martin in self-defense.

In the YouTube video, a black young man and young Latino woman recite words encouraging citizens to “give violence a rest.”

People of different races are seen in the video, and halfway through the 36 second video, Broward Sheriff’s officers walk in and stand behind the two speakers.

At the end the gentleman in the middle says, “I’m Sheriff Scott Israel and law enforcement does have your back.”
