ATLANTA – Stars such as Terri Vaughn, Bobby Valentino and Porsha Stewart were just some of the celebs who stepped out in Atlanta on Thursday for the launch of the Chopard jeweled luxury eyewear collection.

They were there to support former reality television star, Lisa Wu, who hosted the evening as brand ambassador for the trendy and fashionable sunglasses.

The star-studded event, which took place in Davante boutique at the chic Lenox Square Mall, also attracted the likes of Mariah Huq, celebrity hairstylist Derek J and Big Rich Atlanta’s reality divas Sharlinda Parker and Brié Rowe.

“I am honored to represent such a great quality brand,” said actress/author and ex-Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Wu. “Chopard is the ultimate name in luxury eyewear, jewelry and diamonds.”

The collection, which was unveiled in Atlanta for the first time last night, features a wide selection of high-end sunglasses that cost between $300 and $800.

“It’s five-microns of 23-carat gold, all handmade with genuine Swarovski crystals,” said Tiffany Williams an account executive at De Rigo Vision, which represents Chopard. “They’re all handmade and it takes 200 hours to create pieces.”

In fact, the Swiss-based luxury house was back in the press last year following reports they were creating the world’s most expensive sunglasses. The gold and diamond encrusted glasses, produced for Chopard by De Rigo Vision, were reported to cost an estimated $400, 000.

“I love the brand,” said Wu, who was sporting a new spiky short haircut in a figure-hugging black dress. “It’s a brand associated with quality and luxury. I have several pieces of jewelry from them. When Tiffany asked me to host the event I was honored.”

Chopard is definitely about luxury and elegance and Lisa Wu embodies this,” said Williams.

Wu, who said she’d been busy “doing movies,” also revealed to theGrio that she will be returning to reality TV “very soon,” but when prompted to reveal further details she wouldn’t budge.
