Next year A-list superstar Denzel Washington will be reuniting with director Antoine Fuqua for the first time since the duo made the 2001 smash Training Day.

That film won Washington his first (and so far only) Academy Award for best actor and established Fuqua as one of the top action directors in Hollywood (for instance, he helmed last year’s Olympus Has Fallen).

Now they’re teaming up to make a big screen version of cult hit 80s TV show The Equalizer. The plot revolves around a retired secret agent with a “mysterious past” who comes to the aid of people as a private investigator.

The first image of Washington in the title role has surfaced and it is undeniably cool.

Are you excited to see Denzel return to the action genre alongside Fuqua?
