Is legendary comedian Bill Cosby returning to the scene of his greatest success?

According to Deadline. com, the iconic performer is in talks with NBC, which aired his iconic Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992, about launching a new family-themed sitcom.

The 76-year-old would star as the “patriarch of a multi-generational family” and the show would be produced by his old Cosby Show partner Tom Werner.

This would mark Cosby’s return to scripted TV comedy after the cancellation of CBS’ Cosby, which ran from 1996 to 2000.

For his part, he believes that audiences are starving for his brand of wholesome entertainment.

“They would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting, and the comedy of people who make mistakes. Warmth and forgiveness,” Cosby told Yahoo TV in November. “So I hope to get that opportunity, and I will deliver the best of Cosby.”
