theGRIO VIDEO - Actress Tichina Arnold talks about her new film 'A Day Late and a Dollar Short' and discusses reports that a 'Martin' film is in the work..

Actress Tichina Arnold has appeared on TV and film for nearly three decades, getting her first Hollywood break in the 1986 cult classic Little Shop of Horrors at only 17 years old.

This Saturday Arnold stars alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Mekhi Phifer, Kimberly Elise and Ving Rhames in Lifetime’s adaptation of Terry McMillan’s novel A Day Late and a Dollar Short.

However it’s her role as Pam in the ’90s sitcom Martin that to this day she’s most recognized for.

In an interview with theGrio’s Chris Witherspoon, Arnold talked about her role in A Day Late and a Dollar Short and also discussed reports that a Martin film and reunion are in the works.

“Martin called and was like ‘how can we put it together?’ I think it kind of just fell [by] the wayside,” Arnold said. “I think everything happens for a reason. A lot of people ask us, is there gonna be a Martin reunion? I think if we possibly do a Martin reunion it may not be as funny. You want to end on top… all good things must come to an end.”

A Day Late and a Dollar Short premiers Saturday at 8/7 central on Lifetime.
