Donald Sterling banned for life from NBA, fined $2.5 million

theGRIO REPORT - NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Donald Sterling has been banned for life from any association with the Clippers or the NBA and fined $2.5 million.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Donald Sterling has been banned for life from any association with the Clippers or the NBA and fined $2.5 million.

Silver made the announcement during a press conference that was scheduled today at 2 pm.

The fine is the maximum allowed under the NBA Constitution. The fine money will be donated to organizations dedicated to anti-discrimination efforts.

Silver also stated that the Board of Governors will be encouraged to force a sale of the Clippers.

These sanctions come after recorded audio was made public of Sterling allegedly making racist comments to his girlfriend, V. Stiviano.
