For anyone who was worried that the upcoming Lifetime Aaliyah biopic would fall flat, fear no more, because there’s officially another Aaliyah film for the big screen in the works.

The film’s script will be written by Zane, a representative for the fiction author confirmed to theGrio.

S2S magazine broke the news that a feature film about Aaliyah is expected to hit theaters later next year and will include some of Aaliyah’s most memorable recordings and well as never-before-heard music.

In contrast to the Lifetime Aaliyah biopic, the big screen production will have input from Aaliyah’s family.

The singer’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, is working on the big screen production.

Singer B.Simone has signed on to portray Aaliyah. Terrence Howard and Wood Harris were named as possible co-stars for the big-screen film.
