Public support for Bill Cosby hasn’t exactly been strong and swift.
Count Jill Scott among the few who are publicly pro-Cosby. The soul singer and budding actress’ Twitter account has become a one-stop shop of support for the embattled comedian.
Monday, Scott got into it with a few of her nearly one million followers about whether or not folks are condemning Cosby too quickly.
One of her followers suggested Scott didn’t understand how to use her platform on social media and that the singer’s support of Cosby was proof she was misinformed.
@JasBaileyTweets sides with Mr. Cosby? No. I side with substantiated proof when media/society is attempting to destroy a magnificent Legacy

Last month, comedian Faizon Love called Hannibal Buress a “house N***a” for bringing up the Cosby allegations on stage. Some have questioned the validity of the stories from Cosby’s accusers – Love ripped them to shreds.
Scott didn’t go as far in her support but shared with one follower her hesitation in condemning the comedy legend was out of “respect.”
@KristensWay I'm respecting a man who has done more for the image of Brown people that almost anyone EVER. From Fat Albert to the Huxtables

Scott, probably exhausted by the social media back and forth with followers, closed the “reply” session Monday morning with this:
Have a beautiful day. Life is the gift. Live yours. pic.twitter.com/7eX4TcACpr
