'Black' NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal has been outed as white

The president of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, Rachel Dolezal, is in the middle of an investigation concerning racially charged threats sent to her. But on Thursday, the investigation uncovered something surprising: Dolezal is actually white.

Ruthanne and Larry Dolezal, her parents, went public with the assertion that Dolezal is in fact white and that her heritage is German and Dutch.

“Rachel has wanted to be somebody she’s not. She’s chosen not to just be herself but to represent herself as an African American woman or a biracial person. And that’s simply not true,” said Ruthanne Dolezal, who said that their daughter had identified with African-American culture and had black siblings who were adopted.

Rachel Dolezal eventually came to believe that she was biracial and that her biological parents were not her real parents. Ruthanne and Larry Dolezal do not know how she was able to change her appearance after that.

They had no problem with their daughter working for the NAACP, but they did have a problem with the lies she was telling.

Meanwhile, Rachel Dolezal said that she had not been on speaking terms with her parents for sometime because of an ongoing legal feud. “There is a lawsuit that’s been going on for almost a year, once I supported my sister and allegations against her older brother,” said Rachel.

In the meantime, she said, she is not focused on her parents’ claims but on the hate mail that she has been receiving. In March, she received an envelope with pictures of lynchings and references to local cases concerning race, and she believes that the mail is tied to a violent group called “War Pig,” a group associated with meth dealers.

She received another such letter in May and believes that she and her children are being targeted. She has filed numerous police reports.
