Chris Brown says he didn’t even know he was supposed to be at the event.

On Saturday, the singer failed to show up at the The Georgia Freight Depot nightclub for an event celebrating Atlanta Black Gay Pride Weekend. The Traxx Girls event was heralded as the “biggest girl party in the country with over 4,000 women in attendance.”

Melissa Scott, party promoter and founder of Traxx Girls, said she was “baffled” when Brown didn’t show.

“I think it’s unfortunate for mainstream artists to take people’s money with the complete prior knowledge of knowing what the event is and being very clear about what the event is about,” Scott told the GA Voice. “I’m completely baffled. You know it’s gay pride. You knew you agreed when you sent the contract in and took the money.”

But Chris Brown has taken to Twitter to defend himself, explaining that he didn’t even know he was scheduled to be there.
