Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Cordell Broadus was one of the top high school wide receivers and was picked up by UCLA, so folks were shocked when he decided to walk away from football.

The reason? According to TMZ, Cordell says that he was only playing football to get love and respect from his father, Snoop Dogg. When he realized that his father loved him no matter what, he realized he no longer had to play football.

“I played football for my father because I thought that was the only way he would love me and be a part of my life,” he explained, reports TMZ. “It took me 12 years to realize he loves Cordell Broadus the person not Cordell Broadus the football player.”

He then added, “The best day of my life was when I heard those exact words.”
