Throwback: Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston perform

Natalie Cole, the music icon and daughter of the legendary Nat “King” Cole, died on New Year’s Eve at the age of 65.

While Cole had more than her share of individual success, with songs like Pink Cadillac, Miss You Like Crazy, and This Will Be (An Everlasting Love), her career received a jolt when in 1991  through technology  she performed a duet with her late father in the remake of his song Unforgettable.

While her duets with her dad became unforgettable, BET.com’s entertainment editor Clay Cane reminded social media that Natalie Cole’s duet with another departed black queen of music is also worth reflecting on.

During the same televised performance in 1990, the two women also song another classic with Say A Little Prayer.

Rest in peace, Natalie Cole.
