On Wednesday, an 8-year-old Florida boy surprised staff at the King Foods and Meat Bazaar in Florida when he entered the store with a gun and tried to rob the place.

“Give me the f—ing money,” the boy, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet with a sweater to cover his mouth, demanded of the clerk.

“He went through the entry door very quietly, very confidently,” the clerk told NBC Miami. “It’s so shocking. I feel like you have to be careful with everybody nowadays. You can never be too careful.”

The clerk and a coworker were able to quickly disarm the boy, who admitted that he got the gun from his mother.

The boy’s mother has promised to keep her gun locked in a safe. The boy was initially charged with a firearm and aggravated assault, but the charges were dropped, and the boy has instead been sent to a diversion program and ordered to stay away from the store.
