Will Smith Dead – Ex New Orleans Saint Killed in Road Rage Altercation
On April 9th, former New Orleans Saint Will Smith was shot dead at an intersection after being rear ended by another driver. Reports say that Smith was traveling out of New Orleans accompanied by his wife, who was also shot but survived the incident. The shooter was the same driver who rear ended the couple and is now being held in custody and is under investigation by authorities.
Several bystanders witnessed the shooting and even took cover for their own safety as they heard shots fired. The shooting reportedly took place at 11:29 p.m., by the “intersection of Sophie Wright Place and Felicity Street in the Lower Garden District.”
Police have stated that the 34-year old football player had spoken with the driver of a Hummer who ran into him before the man pulled out a handgun and started firing. Authorities also said that, during the collision, Smith’s Mercedes Benz also ran into another vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, because of the accident. Smith’s wife was apparently shot two times in the leg and taken to the hospital after the shooting ended and police arrived.
