Rapper Big Boi shares meme blasting today’s black mothers, catches Twitter’s wrath
Big Boi brought in Memorial Day with a bang Monday morning — as a trending topic on Twitter.
The Atlanta rapper shared a meme comparing mothers in the 70s to mothers today. On the left side, fictional mother “Florida Evans” from Good Times is pictured. On the right side, an unidentified young woman is in a thong in a bathroom in front of a young child.
The point? Esther Rolle’s character represents everything right about motherhood. The scantily-clad woman represents everything wrong.
Some on Black Twitter weren’t pleased with the comparison.

Me after seeing Big Boi's post… It takes two people to make a child, so two are responsible in raising that child. pic.twitter.com/PXfbGjptKS

Memes are Internet Russian roulette, and Big Boi certainly stepped into it. Several Twitter users are blasting the rapper’s “misogyny.”
