LAPD arrests singer Chris Brown for assault, Ray J comes to his defense

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a lengthy standoff with the LAPD at his home yesterday.

Early Tuesday, a woman reported that he threatened her with a gun during a late night incident.

Former Miss California regional finalist Baylee Curran says the altercation began over a piece of jewelry that she was admiring. At that point, Brown pulled a gun on her and told her to “get the f*ck out” of his house.

When she tried to leave, members of Brown’s entourage demanded she not leave with her cell phone until she signed a non-disclosure agreement. She refused to sign the form and left the premises.

At one point during the standoff with police, someone threw a duffle bag out the window containing guns and other weapons as well as an unknown amount and type of drugs.

Brown made videos taunting the LAPD and even shouted out the windows for police to “Come and get me!”

At around 12 pm, Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, arrived on scene. Chris Brown was later released on bail of $250,000. The credibility of Brown’s accuser has also come into question after it was revealed she’s wanted in New York for questioning in connection with criminal theft.
