In a recent interview with People magazine, Michael Strahan says his friendship with Kelly Ripa is over.

The former NFL athlete turned television host said he and his former “Live! with Kelly and Michael” co-star ceased all communication since he parted ways and took a gig with “Good Morning America.”

“At one point I think we were friends,” Strahan said about his very public fallout with Ripa, who he worked with for four years. “I don’t know what happened at the end. I learned a lot from her, though.”

Ripa was reportedly blindsided by Strahan’s decision to leave their daytime talk show, causing a rift in their relationship.

“I wasn’t surprised by her reaction at all, but I can’t control somebody else’s actions,” Strahan said. “I was there four years, and it’s about more than just being in front of the camera.”

“Toward the end of it all, we didn’t really communicate that much,” he added. “I kinda looked at it like, ‘It was what it was.’ I come from a business where you have to collaborate. The show was going well? We’re all winning. That’s all that matters to me.”
