Grieving man gets ride from cop after sister is killed in car crash

Mark E. Ross was driving through several states and headed to Michigan after hearing the news of his teenage sister’s tragic passing in a car accident when a state trooper pulled him and his friend over in Ohio.
The car was impounded, and Ross’ friend, who was driving, was taken to jail.
Ross knew that he had a petty warrant out for his arrest, and so the traffic stop could well end up with him going to jail as well. Knowing he might not be able to join his grieving family, all he could do was break down and cry.
But when Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Robison saw the state he was in, Robison reached out to offer his support.
“He reaches over and began praying over me and my family,” Ross wrote on Facebook. “Everybody knows how much I dislike cops, but I am truly (grateful) for this guy. He gave me hope.”
What’s more, Robison offered to drive him the 100 miles he needed to go to bail out the driver in order to get him closer to Michigan.
On Sunday, Ross took to Facebook with a picture of himself and Robison to tell the story, and as of Tuesday, the story had been shared almost 100,000 times.
