New York mayor blasts Muslim woman for faking subway attack by Trump supporters
It was reported this week that Baruch College student Yasmin Seweid would be charged by the NYPD for making a false police report stating that she had been attacked by three Trump supporters on the subway.
The 18-year-old Muslim woman said that she was approached on the train by three drunk white men. She claimed that they yelled “Donald Trump” and called her a terrorist. She had said the attack got even more serious when the men tried to forcibly remove her hijab.
After the “attack,” she went missing for several days only to show up again when it was revealed she was staying at a friend’s place.

The mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, has spoken out about the incident.
“I’m really angry at this young woman for in effect doing a huge disservice to everyone,” he stated on his radio program.
“She did a disservice to the NYPD, who put real time and energy into investigating her claims. She did a disservice to the taxpayers; she did a disservice to the truth,” he went on.
He also made a point to say that while there is, in fact, an “obvious spike in hate crimes,” Seweid’s actions empower those who claim “it’s no big deal.”
