Teen girl kidnapped and raped on Facebook Live, no one called the police
On Tuesday, a 15-year-old girl who was gang-raped as the video of her ordeal was posted to Facebook Live has been reunited with her mother, and Chicago police are looking for the five or six men or boys suspected of sexually assaulting her.
According to the department spokesperson, Anthony Guglielmi, about 40 people saw the Facebook Live video, but none of them reported it to police. Instead, they were contacted by the girl’s mother, Stacey Elkins, who showed the police screen grabs from the video.
Elkins had learned of the “disgusting” video when she was contacted by friends and family, and, as she told CBS, she was horrified to see her daughter in various states of undress as the men or boys were treating her in an abusive manner.
“I saw her face and the look on her face was just pure fear. And I, I just want my daughter home,” Elkins recalled.

Police found Elkins’ daughter, and the two were reunited after the terrifying ordeal. They are still looking for those responsible for the kidnapping and assault.
The footage was removed from Facebook after the social media networking site was contacted, and police are now trying to track down the owner of the Facebook page.
