In an interview with FOX26’s  Jonathan Martin, Mathew Knowles is opening up about his relationship with Beyoncé and Solange.

“I communicate with them weekly,” Knowles said, insisting in the interview that he would not say he has been “estranged” from his daughters despite headlines suggesting otherwise. “I would describe my relationship with my daughters as loving.”

To prove that point, Knowles pulled out his cell phone and showed Martin dozens of texts that he said were sent between himself and Beyoncé.

“I don’t care what people say, Jonathan. I just want them to say the wrong thing, now, and I’m gonna see them in court,” he declared.

As for the reports suggesting that Knowles had been banned from Beyoncé’s delivery room when her twins are born, Knowles had this to say: “That’s a lie.”

He also criticized comparisons between his own management of Destiny’s Child and Joe Jackson, who managed the Jackson Five: “You can’t equate me with Joe Jackson. I’ve never hit my kid, I’m educated, I understand the business world.”

He also spoke to Solange’s recent success, garnering her first ever Grammy. “I’m a little bit more proud of Solange,” he admitted, going on to explain, “She chose to do it her way. Because in the beginning, we wanted to mold her into this pop star, and that is not who she is. And we were wrong. I was wrong, the record labels were wrong… She wanted to do it her own way, and she did.”
